The Winter's Tale

PQ starred as Leontes in an outdoor production of Shakespeare's beautiful and problematic comedy. It was directed by PQ's longtime friend Greg Taubman.

PQ on The Winter's Tale: "Leontes is really a monster of a role to take on, especially as a young man. Greg [Taubman] flattered me by thinking I could handle the part at my age, but I think in the context of the young cast (with several other cross-gender, cross-age, cross-race castings,) and the free aesthetic of the play it made sense. From a technical standpoint, this is probably the play I've learned the most from in the execution. Leontes' meter is incredibly intricate throughout the show, and his emotional highs and lows, and his bizarre lack of clear motivation make him a huge challenge. On a personal note, this is probably the most fun I've had doing a play, and many of the most important friends in my life were part of that show."
